The information you need is written on the in-game tooltip, e.g. Iron Ingot. You need Knowledge "Heating: Beginner". That's awarded by Flaviano in Heidel, but he won't give you the quest directly. Instead you start the quest chain by talking to Ficy in Heidel when you have level 14+ Gathering.
